Introduction
The objective of this short post is to explain how to solve the error opening the awt.dll file, during the installation of the Arduino IDE.
Solving the awt.dll error
A common error that occurs when installing a new version of the Arduino IDE after uninstalling a previous one is shown below, in figure 1. The error message says that an error occurred opening a awt.dll file for writing.
Although it is possible to ignore it and follow the installation, when we try to launch the IDE it won’t work.
The solution for this is very simple. If this error appears, we should abort the current installation and then restart our computer. After that, the installation should work without any problem.
